Children too are a gift from YHVH; the fruit of the womb is a reward. The children born when one is young are like arrows in the hand of a warrior. How blessed is the man who has filled his quiver with them; he will not have to be embarrassed when contending with foes at the city gate. Psalms 127:3-7

Week 17

I am 17 weeks today!

I finally started to feel less sick this week. It was great. Still really tired but the horrible sickness had eased off. Until Friday night when I got (I believe) food poisoning from subway. They didn't heat the chicken fillet up and I really believe it made me sick. I was throwing up, was really dizzy and very achy and just felt so terrible. I felt a little ripped off as I only just started to feel a bit better. Anyway today has been much better.

I started taking bio magnesium today in hope that it will make me a bit more regular. I always suffer from constipation when I'm pregnant and would love not to be! I have never taken it before but have heard it can help so we will see!

My appetite came back this week (until friday night anyway). It's so good to like food again and to actually be able to eat again. I'm really enjoying crackers and avocado, cheese, cottage cheese on toast and lots of water.

I am feeling bubba move but no where near as much as I would like to be. I can not wait until the movements are stronger.

I have 2 1/2 weeks until the 'big' scan. I can't wait to confirm the gender so I can start organizing things.

I got my sweets packages from America today. I'm pretty sure it will last a while. I can't wait to be more into chocolate!

and the kids all enjoying a try

Week 16

I am 16 weeks today!

I'm enjoying finally having more of a pregnant tummy rather than just a fat one! I really think it depends on the clothes you wear though. When I'm in a dress I definitely look more pregnant than when I'm in shorts. This pic is from today and the one below is from sometime last week

I am finally, just yesterday, starting to feel a little less sick! I've had another hard week dealing with this sickness and wondering if it will ever end! I'm really hoping it's ending with these past 2 days feeling a bit better! I'm 16 weeks and should be having the 2nd trimester glow!

I've been quite worried again this week hoping that the baby is ok. I normally would be feeling the baby move a fair bit by now but have not felt much :(
I am sure I felt her move the other night and I can not wait until I'm feeling her all the time.

I have been quite tired this week. Essence slept through (until around 4 or 5am) for 2 days in a row! This was the first time ever she hadn't fed through the night. I've been struggling with feeding her so much at night so decided it was time to night wean seems she did it herself. But she had different ideas. It's been a struggle but one that will be worth it in the end. She wants nothing to do with me at all (not holding hands or back rubbing or even singing!) if I say no! She rolls to the other side of the bed and just cries. It's hard but I know she's ok. I'm right next to her if she wants comfort.
She is still feeding lots in the day and still feeds for her daytime nap and to go to bed at night.

I got a surprise parcel in the post this week from Donna. It had a beautiful little dress for bubba in it and a sweet card :)
That same day I was in kmart and saw a cute little top/dress for $2 and had to grab it. It's the first thing I have bought for bubba.

I have still been into coleslaw and salads and am getting my appetite back. I can not wait to enjoy tea again. Unfortunately that's not back yet :(

I had a visit with Sonja our midwife today. Everything is good. I got to hear the little ones heartbeat which was very reassuring that there is a live baby in there! Blood pressure etc..is all fine.

I am hopefully planning on paying for the homebirth conference today. It looks like it will be really good this year. I will be 38 weeks pregnant when it's on so I will be very much into all things birth!

Week 15

I'm 15 weeks today. Very excited that I'm getting further away from the first trimester!

Photo is a bit blurry. I got Ethan to take it during the crazy morning rush! I feel like I doubled in size over night of Saturday night! My belly is definitely popping out now!

I'm still not feeling much movement. I have felt something a few times this past week but I'm not 100% sure it was the baby. I can't wait to feel this baby move!

I have probably had the worst week this past week with being tired and sick. It has been really hard physically and emotionally as I was beginning to wonder if it would ever pass or if this is how I would be living from now! Of course it will pass but after being sick for so long you forget what 'normal' is. I was thinking that maybe I was in 'transition' last week where you just don't think you can do it anymore and before you know it- it's over! Hopefully I was right because as of yesterday I have felt much better. I managed to clean up most of this inside of the house. It was so bad! Weeks and weeks worth of cleaning to do in the bedrooms! I'm planning on finishing the inside of the house this week and doing the outside next week.

I have been craving coleslaw. It's so nice and I just can't get enough of it. I am loving salad at the moment and am avoiding fatty food. We went to an all you can eat pizza last night and I didn't even have any pizza! Salad and garlic bread for me. I think my appetite is coming back! I'm looking forward to cooking and eating more and I'm sure my family is too!!

I've been having really weird dreams. Often I wake up wondering if they're real or if I dreamt them! I'm always happy to realize that it was just a dream though :)

Breastfeeding Essence is really painful at the moment. She takes up to 2 hours to put to sleep at night and it is becoming something I dread :( not sure yet what I will do about it though.

I thought my midwife visit was today but it's not actually until next week! I'm looking forward to hearing our little baby's heartbeat again.

Ultrasound

Today I had a wonderful ultrasound! The baby looks great and healthy. The neck skin folds are the right measurements. Bubba is measuring 70 or 72 mm. It's almost doubled in size in 2 weeks! The heartbeat was nice and strong at 152 beats per minute. I had a really good sonographer who was quick and efficient and really knew what he was talking about. We got some great pictures top.

The little one in 3D. You can see the cord attached to it's tummy.

This ones a bit scary but is the baby looking straight at us!

The little ones hand up near it's face. This one is very similar to the picture from 2 weeks ago.

This is a bit fuzzy because it has been taken with my iPhone.
It was so amazing to see the baby so active!

The placenta is posterior and the 2nd placenta seems to be gone. So it either joined with the first one as the uterus stretched or my body has reabsorbed it. Either way I'm super happy that there is one healthy baby in there!

I asked if we could tell the sex yet and baby was in a great position to see between it's legs and it looks like it's a girl! As it's still early it's not 100% but the sonographer was pretty sure. There was nothing between it's legs! I was really shocked as I thought it was a boy. I've had lots of dreams about this one being a girl so maybe deep down I knew. Anyway we will know for sure at my next ultrasound on the 15th April. I will be almost 20 weeks.
I never imagined I would have 3 daughters after having four sons. All the boys are happy as they all wanted another sister.
I ended up having a 2nd ultrasound done by a student who was having an exam so I had 3 people looking at the baby. This was pretty uncomfortable as the 2nd person took forever and I was so busting to go to the toilet. On the positive note I got to see lots of the baby move!

Week 14

I am 14 weeks today!
I am starting to show and am definitely starting to feel the bump growing. Unfortunately this is the stage of not quite looking pregnant but looking rounder.

I am still feeling sick. Not as sick as before but still quite ill especially in the morning.

I am still feeling really tired. Essence is not sleeping very well and I'm getting lots of very broken sleep.

I am still enjoying the juice icy's.
This weeks fav is

so yummy!
I am also really enjoying caesar salads. I'd love one every day! I still can not handle butter and bread. I feel sick just looking at butter and even sicker when I'm buttering the boys lunches.

I am not feeling the baby move but am so excited for when I can. These next few weeks will be so good.

Jay and I had a dinner date last Monday night. It was really nice to go out alone and enjoy some yummy food!

What was left over from my meal. I took it home and had the rest for lunch the next day. I'm
looking forward to being able to eat more! The plus side of not eating as much is that I'm 5 kilo's lighter. :)

I am with a secret facebook group with other mums due in September. We have a buddy (mine is from the USA) that we are swapping sweets with. I posted this off today to my buddy.

I am looking forward to my 2nd ultrasound tomorrow. We should be able to see what is happening with the 2nd placenta. It will be interesting to see how much the bubba has grown in 15 days. I've never had an ultrasound done so close to another.

I am still getting headaches most afternoon and have even taken panadol twice this week. I try really hard to take nothing but when your trying to function it's pretty hard with your head feeling like it's going to explode.
